This week, we make a profound theological statement, and really a statement of faith about what it means to be a community, and to be followers of Jesus with our lives, not just what we believe. As you may have heard, Sunday at 6:20 is the Super Bowl (Go Mighty Ducks!). So, with all this talk about being incarnational, talk about the life of faith beyond the worship gathering, and bout being human with people who may have a dehumanized view of followers of Jesus, we're begging you, go watch the Super Bowl with some friends! We'd be missing the Jesus thing completely, if on one of the few nights a year when people open their houses, break bread together, and unite arounda past time, we felt it to be a better use of time to separate ourselves from culture to be "Christian" together. Our prayer is that we might do more for the cause of God in the world by being human with people, and showing them love, acceptance, humanity, and honesty, than by making others feel guilty for not being devout during the game. So seriously, follow Jesus. He would be somewhere having a beer, shooting the... breeze, and watching the game with people. Isn't faith liberating! Love it!
