To Canvas : From Canvas

Friends,

Wow! I can't believe that it has been nearly a year since I have been a part of this community of misfits. I have never been a part of a community that has challenged, shaped or moved me to follow Jesus in a true and authentic way. I want to thank all of you for being my friends, brothers, sisters, and mentors. About a year ago, I stepped foot off Stetson's Campus, where I was staffing a campus ministry called InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I had taken time off to fundraise for my role as a campus staff worker. The first five months I struggled financially, spiritually and emotionally. At the time I had just gotten involved with Canvas. I remember thinking that this community was so different, yet, so captivating. I had been looking for a community like this for a very long time. This past year, I have grown so much as a person and as a leader of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. Sharing life with you shapes me and challenges me to be Jesus on campus, in the community and the world. Four weeks ago, school began. I stepped foot back onto campus renewed, refreshed, and ready to love and help shape the lives of students who I dearly love. This year we are organically forming our identity as ministry that cares for the poor and the hopeless on our campus and community. Simply, we are people who are seeking to know and follow Jesus. It is through being apart of this community that I attribute my growth as first a follower of Jesus and then a leader. Again, thank you for being my friends and my family.

Grace and Peace,

Isaac
