Hey Canvas Community,
We're rapidly approaching resurrection speed. 2 more weeks and then Easter. We had a hic-up in the sunrise service location, so stand by and we'll get details ASAP. But, keep that creative impulse pulsing, and plan to share your art, expression, creation with us on Easter on the 12th at 5pm. And if you're not able or don't feel particularly creative this Easter, come anyway and experience the expression of a community bearing witness to the truth that god is alive in the world and up to something at Canvas!
We can't say enough how thankful we are to have had Brian Russell share with us last week. His compelling and challenging message provided much food for thought, and reflection for further action. As a means of continuing to build the Canvas/ Russell relationship, there us a bog below where you can go and comment on how amazing the message was, and how much we'd love to have Brian back to share... think warm fuzzies!
Ah yes, this week. We'll begin our descent toward the ground zero of Jesus by examining baptism... wind, water, fire... need we say more? Yes, actually. So if you're not into drinking the cultic cool-aid, and ritual and sacramental importance waved good bye long ago, think again. Let's re-examine this age old tradition of followers of Jesus, of Jesus himself, and of the world from whence he came (yeah... whence).
Is anyone else having way to much fun with the whole rethinking church thing?!
Let's be in prayer for one another, for healing of many of our loved ones, for those of us who are serving others in difficult circumstances, and those of us who are choosing to sacrifice status, honor, reputation and otherwise for the sake of reconciliation. And while we're at it, Let's pray for the future of the Caffe, as people dream about a great resurrection of a cultural center, icon, and cultivator of community that DeLand truly needs.
Grace and Peace
